Long Story Short: Will Smith is a wise, wise, man.
Long Story Short: Will Smith has it all.
He’s a world-famous actor, a platinum-selling rapper, he’s had a loving marriage for two decades and he’s easily one of the most beloved celebrities, consistently motivating us via Instagram. But all his fame, all his money, all the women he’s had in his life isn’t what makes him happy.
Smith, 49, revealed what does make him happy in an interview on Tidal’s Rap Radar podcast, according to Entertainment Tonight.
“The idea is… I’ve been to the top of money, I’ve had all the sex that I’ve ever wanted, I’ve had all of the adoration,” he said while explaining the title of a song on his new hip-hop album called “The Mountaintop.” “I’ve been to the top of all those material world mountains and nothing makes you happy other than being useful to others. That’s it. That’s the only thing that ever will satisfy that thing, is that what you’re doing is useful.”
But Smith admits he isn’t always happy, as his persona gives off. As a matter of fact, he has, like the rest of us, struggled with negativity from time to time.
“Fighting yourself to maintain positivity is the hardest fight you ever gon’ have,” he said. “That struggle to just stay my course, be the person in the world that I wanted to be no matter what people said. I started to call it offensive positivity.”
Will Smith is truly an amazing guy, but it’s cool to see that he’s struggled as well. If you happen to be having a rough go right now, here are some hacks to keep you motivated.
